Our Process
We evaluate the existing home and proposed changes to create a clear path from the initial review to final documents.
Review → Existing Conditions → Plans → Permit Support → Final Documents
What to Expect During the Process
Every existing home and proposed improvement is different, but most follow the same general path. Open each step to see what to expect.
-
We begin by reviewing your goals, the proposed changes, and any available documents. Existing plans, surveys, photographs, property records, and information about previous renovations can help us understand the scope.
-
The existing home must be evaluated so the new work can connect to it properly. Measurements, site observations, and verification of structural conditions may be needed before the plans can be completed.
-
We prepare the plans and engineering details needed for the proposed addition or renovation. This may include layouts, structural modifications, connections, framing details, and coordination with the existing building.
-
The completed documents can be submitted to the appropriate city or county for review. If the reviewing authority requests clarification or revisions, we help address comments related to our plans and engineering work.
-
Once required revisions are completed, the final documents are prepared for permitting and construction. Because some existing conditions may be hidden, additional adjustments may occasionally be needed after construction begins.
