Our Story
Building a Legacy: From Heartbreak to Passion
In 2018, faced with the devastating news that my mother-in-law’s cancer had returned after 17 years of “remission”, my wife and I were determined to support her during her illness. To ensure proximity and independence, we embarked on a journey to build a tiny house on her property. However, we could not find the right professionals to help despite our efforts. We ultimately halted our plans to prioritize her care as her health quickly declined. God called Ma home in August of 2019 before construction could even begin.
Despite this loss, our journey sparked a deep passion for home design and architecture, guided by our faith and the belief that everyone deserves a dignified and accessible home. Rejecting the stigma of multi-generational living, we see it as an opportunity for families to flourish together. Thus, Purpose Built Engineering was born, driven by our commitment to serving families like ours and honoring our beloved mother’s memory.
Designing with Purpose: Empowering Families with Accessible, Sustainable Designs
Rooted in our faith, our manifesto is clear: we design purposeful homes informed by research in aging-in-place and accessibility. Sustainability is at our core, with a commitment to eco-friendly materials and technologies. Our designs prioritize community and adaptability, recognizing the diverse needs of families.
Inspired by our own family’s journey, Purpose Built Engineering aims to simplify multi-generational living, empowering families to care for their loved ones while preserving their autonomy. With a focus on dignity and independence, our fully accessible homes are designed to enhance everyday life for all generations.
